I have been doing both OPK tests and measuring my BBT for several months and I’m noticing that I’ll get a positive OPK but then my body temperature won’t spike for sometimes up to 4 days later. I continue to have positive opk for 1 or 2 days after the peak one but i know LH is coming down at that point. I don't know how long you'd normally wait between one and the other but I'd have thought 2-3 days max. Plan on continuing with OPKs and bd'ing every 2 or 3 days ... Mar 15, 2017 · A positive opk means your body is gearing up to release the egg. It is possible for the egg not to be released. What usually happens is your body will have another lh surge in a few days to try to release the egg again, resulting in a late cycle. Some women have a long surge for more than 1 day so this means if you just do the above and presume the next day the egg releases and that's the only day you BD (when it really does it 2-3 days later) you've hosed yourself. The best thing IMO is to keep tracking (+) OPK test until you have a BBT temperature drop also.CD 14: 96.94 CD 15: 97.11 CD 16: 97.18 CD 17: 96.81 CD 18 (first positive OPK): 97.08 CD 19: 97.18 CD 20: 97.18 CD 21 (today): 97.26 Is it possible I ovulated the same day as first positive so the CD 17 reading was the dip, and then every day since then has been a little higher?My bbt dropped this morning and Iv had ovulation pains all day, so that would predict that Iv ovulated today- as long as I have a temp rise tomorrow which I’m expecting going by last months chart. But on my clearblue opk Iv got flashing smiley no static yet. If it goes static tomorrow that will say ovulation within 24-48 hours.Oh and by the looks of things, you don't necessarily need a BBT but I've really loved having more accurate charts. :) I got my Life Brand BBT at Shoppers Drug Mart. I change them every 3-4 months so I can rely on my temps being accurate. I don't use a new BBT until the next cycle though..
